I just bought an ultrasonic dental scaler on Ebay. Has anyone tried
this for cleaning? I have had problems cleaning some cast pieces
where there are hard to reach places with traces of investment
material left. Previously I tried a Masterblaster, ultrasonic jewelry
cleaner, toothbrush with various abrasives, etc etc., with
dissapointing results. I was at the dentist and they use this
ultrasonic scaler to clean your teeth. I managed to snag one off of
Ebay for only $50! I hope it works…Anyone tried this yet? I would
think this would be be great for cleaning wax models, cast pieces,
or other stubborn jobs.

a dentist who is a friend of mine gave me a cavitron that went
through the flood following hurricane Katrina. since he couldn’t use
it on patients i happily accepted it to water blast jewelry
clean…works great particularly if you hook it up to a source of
heated water, or standard plumbing mixture of hot and cold…if you
got it for 50$ you made a great deal…
