Taylor faceting machine manual

#1

Hi! Does anyone have a booklet on how to use a Taylor Faceting
Machine? I do know that is was made by someone back in the 1940’s.
Possibly before then. It was then demonstrated at a gem show in the
1940’s. Hewas a member of the Stockton Lapidary and Mineral Club.

Thanks!

how to use a Taylor Faceting Machine?

The full name was apparently M.D. Taylor. Glenn Klein mentions this
machine in his “Faceting History” book, but there’s no detail. In
2005, a Wayne S. Barnett was looking for info. I don’t know if he
found it, but his email at the time was waynesb@sbcglobal. net. The
Mineral and Gem Society of Castro Valley had an exhibit award named
after M.D. Taylor. They might know something, if the club is still
active.

If you just want to know how to use it, probably any experienced
faceter could figure it out. If you do find more I’m
sure the US Faceter’s Guild would like to add it to their list of
faceting machines.
