T settings for rings

I would like to know how to set a stone iin a Y or T setting. Are there any instructions that I can print out and refer to? Also, if you can give me the name of this type of setting, I would greatly appreciate it.

We need to know more information. Is the stone a cabochon or faceted? Are you referring to the shape of the prong? Can you post a picture as an example?..Rob

Check Potter U.S.A’s YouTube channel. Kevin Potter rescues old hubs and dies from many turn of the century jewelry manufacturers who have gone out of business. He remakes and sells jewelry dies from many different eras. T-shank is the term he uses for this particular style ring. You should be able to find “how to” videos both on his FaceBook page or on his YouTube channel. If you don’t find what you are looking for post your photo and question in his FB group. It’s a very supportive group, you’ll definitely get some help. Here is a link to a video that might help, it was made by one of the members of his FB group.
