Ringman, John Henry, R.I.P

I actually met John Henry, must’ve been six or seven years back…
He stopped by because he’d read some posts on Orchid. I think he
came by twice, once on his way south and again on his way home. We
spent a few hours each time telling bench stories and perhaps
kidding each other a bit…

Quite a few of us on Orchid are approaching the age at which we too
will become memories. John knew in advance and acted accordingly…
he was trying to patch up some of the mistakes we have all made in
our lives, and wanted some advice. I spoke to him on the phone about
year and half ago, and at that time he was still optimistic about
his chances. I am sorry to hear that he is gone.

Ringman will be missed. He helped many of us with our problems, and
he frequently had a real “jewel” of a tip. My condolences to his
wife and family.

My condolences to John’s family. We’ll miss him here on Orchid, and
I regret never having met him in person. I have several of his posts
in my “save these” folder for future reference, and I’ll think of him
when I read them.
