Belt buckle advice requested

Ted,
What is “duble’ material”.

Morning Richard,
inc my case as mentioned, its .5mm sterling sheet blanked into the shape, then an identical bronze material some 2.5mm thick likewise blanked. Then a solder .1mm thick round small circle is placed between these 2 disks and heated with flux so they bond toget
Finally, Held in a small circular clamp , drilled and tapped 4mm.
Its the French word used in the UK for the original Sheffield plate that preceded the invention of electroplating.
this S P. was say a 2mm thick silver sheet, soldered to a 12 to 15mm copper sheet, then rolled cold down to 1 to 1.5 mm thickness.
Can be made from most dissimilar metals.
I had a need for a 10 tho (imp measurement) fine gold on fine silver sheet, which was 1/10th gold to 9/10ths fine silver. Johnson Matthey could make to order this sheet some 4in wide by 36in long.
hope this helps.
Ted.

Actually Ted, every part of this buckle was made from sterling silver. There’s no steel in it, whatsoever.

How is the buckle holding up?
