Yellow Brass 70/30?

Yellow brass contains a high percentage of zinc 60/40 and
tends to be rather brittle.

Are you sure, Richard? I’d have said yellow brass was 70/30, the
most yellow of the brasses, also called cartridge brass, and
isn’t all that brittle. A nice metal, really.

<define ‘nice’:> Hmmm, hard to do! Well, it does work quite well
for a brass. Needs annealing more frequently, though. And it
has no lead component to mess you up (alloying to make
solders
etc).
