I am looking at getting a website to sell, so your post was
interesting, but what is an internic fee — I never heard of it.

Internic is the agency that registers domain names. It
is basically private, but set up by an act of Congress,
(I think…).

And do you have to pay it to have a web page?

Only if you want your own domain name, such as:

    http://www.ROY.com/

If you just want a web page, e.g.,

    http://www.digiweb.com/~Roy

then it’s not necessary. The advantage of having a
domain name is that it’s easy for people to remember.
