Workshops in the Seattle area?

Hi

I live in Victoria, a short plain ride from or to Seattle. I can’t
seem to find any local (Vancouver) colleges offering 3-5 day courses
in metalsmithing during the spring or summer, and I am wondering if
any of the local ones in the Seattle are offering any courses.

If you know of any, would you please let me know?

Thanks in advance,

David

David, We are going to be moving to Salt Spring Island this summer.
My wife is a “retired” jeweler/master model maker/metal smith, now
sculptur. I am a retired organic farmer doing ceramic shell bronze
casting (full service foundry, molds, wax, casting, patination,
baseing, etc). As we are going through immigration we cannot sell or
make $ doing stuff, be we are very happy to help people learn,
experience different forms of art. We won’t have the foundry set up
until next year as we have to build it, but the studio should be up
and going this summer. We are surrently in Sequim WA but not set up
for anything. If interested, keep us in mind, drop us an email, what
ever. Once we are set up, we will be having artist lunch days on
island and you would be most welcomed to come, so would any of you
other Orchidian’s. If I hear of any metalsmithing courses in the
greater Seattle area, I will post them on this list. Have you tired
contacting the chamber of commerce??

David,

Check with Pratt Fine Arts Center http://www.pratt.org Or with the
Seattle Metals Guild http://www.seattlemetalsguild.org

Both of these resources are non-profit and will guide you to some
wonderful workshops
