Plique-a-Jour Enameling with Judy Daner
The French term Plique-a-jour means “a form of cloisonne in which
the enamel in the cells has no backing, producing a translucent
effect.” In this two-day workshop, we will explore the lush colors
of plique-a-jour enameling techniques and build a pair of beautiful
earrings. The effect is much like looking at a stained glass window
encased in a leaded frame. When the sun shines through the piece the
effect is glorious. As light passes through the enameled areas, this
technique is only suitable for application on silverware, goblets,
bowls, hair ornaments and earrings. Open to artists of all levels.

Marketing Workshop with Karen Christians
You’ve graduated from art school, a trade school, or you just like
to make art and are ready to promote yourself. Where do you begin?
This two day workshop will assist you in the basics of marketing to
an audience, understanding the marketplace, and writing a resume and
artist statement. We will assemble a marketing portfolio and a
press-kit. Marketing is not about selling, but making the sale
easier because customers recognize your name. We will discuss
building your marketing tool kit for image branding, logos, booth
design, photography and promotional materials. Open to artists of
all levels.
