EXPLORE, CREATE, AND INNOVATE, learning how to harness the design
and form possibilities of Bonny Doon tools in the hydraulic press.
After an introduction to hydraulic press safety and care, learn to
use the new steel synclastic and anticlastic forming tools, as well
as the delrin anticlastic forming set and the free-form tool (the
urethane and restraining rings forming system). Discover how to take
advantage of different thicknesses and hardnesses of urethane for
effective and creative embossing and forming.
Demonstrations will alternate with time for hands-on experimenting
and creating. This workshop will help participants become skilled
and comfortable with the use of the press for both one-of-a-kind
jewelry as well as multiples.Combine hydraulic press forming with
surface enrichment techniques for limitless possibilities! This
course is appropriate for students with basic metalsmithing skills
as well as professionals.
