Guest Artist Barbara Seidenath presents a workshop for advanced
enamellists entitled, SURFACE & DEPTH. This two-day workshop will
allow participants to become familiar with a variety of champlev=e
and image generating techniques. In addition, a variety of
alterations of the metal surface, including roller printing,
stamping, engraving, and transfers will be explored. Demonstrations
include surface treatments, finishing, and creative setting and
framing options. $285, includes all materials.

In her own work, German-born Seidenath fabricates deceptively complex
jewels from precious metals, quartz crystal, and enamel. She attended
the State School for Glass and Jewelry in Neugablonz, Germany,
obtaining a BFA in Goldsmithing from SUNY New Paltz, New York, and
MFA from Academie der Bildenden Kunste, Munich, where she studied
with master jeweler Hermann Junger. She has been on the faculty of
Rhode Island School of Design in Providence for the past two
decades.
