THE NEXT DIMENSION; MAKING HOLLOW FORMS WITH PRECIOUS METAL CLAY
DATE: October 19-21, 2007
We will explore methods of creating dimensional forms (hollow forms)
using Precious Metal Clay,embellished with designs and textures to
make your forms unique. Using Precious Metal Clay, a clay-like form
of Pure Silver, we’ll make a variety of hollow forms (hollow beads
and vessel forms) while investigating moldmaking, appliqu=e and other
techniques for manipulating Precious Metal Clay. With the help of
demonstrations, slides (time-permitting) and examples, you will
design, create, fire and finish your objets. Though some experience
with Precious Metal Clay will be helpful, students with little or no
experience with metal clay will receive the personal attention that
will help them work with the material.
