Wintergreen Oil

Read the previous John Burgess post - Wintergreen oil - Wanna make
it?

While I’m sure that this will come as a surprise to those who have
been using this "Coil"as a cutting (engraving) lubricant, I gotta
agree that it’s pretty useless for this purpose.

I know of very few professional engravers who use it, though all
have heard about it. It’s an old tradition with no foundation in
fact. People keep spreading it because it keeps getting passed on
by uninformed instructors. You might as well use spit or snot.

There are far better lubricants scientifically designed and tested
for the purpose.
