William E Carlie - Jewelry Gallery

Night Heron Studios
Winter Park, FL. USA

I have always been a student of nature and have split my time between the study of nature as a botanist and as a collector of natural stone. I studied lapidary as a teen and still enjoy bringing out the beauty of natural materials.

I learned jewelry fabrication the old fashioned way through a classic apprenticeship to a european trained master jeweler in the late 60s and early 70’s. I developed a career in environmental science, but have kept the tools of the jeweler’s trade and would build occasional pieces for special occasions and loved ones.

Over the last 6 years I have reconnected with my art in a more asserted way and now exhibit my work in juried shows. Jewelry has always been the media I love as an artist and getting my work out in front of the public has been a very rewarding experience. i am still learning and growing each year.
