I’ve pierced a repeating arrow pattern in a bronze cuff 3” wide. I would like to make this concave. It was recommended that I solder the two ends together so I could then use a large mushroom dome to flare out the ends.
Is this the best method to achieve this, or should I anneal and use a large Fretz concave forming stake with a delrin hammer?
Any advice or video/article/book pointing is much appreciated!
If you have a hydraulic press, you can buy bracelet formers that will make them. I am not sure about 3" wide, you would have to ask. Mine came from Kevin Potter…Rob
I use the sinusoidal stake as well. It all depends on what I’m going for as to the particular stake I use. However, just recently I broke down and bought a hydraulic press and it has changed my world! I can kick out a few of these a week should I be so inclined! But, I do enjoy putting my own style into each piece and of course, as we all know, this is where the real time comes into play. For me it’s more about making the piece into something I love than getting it out the door!
