Well annealled tools - lifters/stamps

Linda - Great idea! I found out about it in the mid-1980s when my
step-son burned an engine on his trail bike. He rebuilt it himself,
so I got the lifters, and I’m still using them today! I expect that
the temper of the metal has already been drawn by the fire at your
brother’s place. You’ll know as soon as you start cutting/filing the
shapes you want in the ends. Just follow the instructions from
Orchid archives on tempering after you make your stamps, and you
should do well.

Are you speaking of lifters or valve stems. I have a set of custom
made stamps and the are made from the stem part pf valves. Never saw
a stamp made from lifters. I may be missing something.
