The Jewelry Arts Institute
Brooklyn, NY. USA
I am a classically trained goldsmith.I was an apprentice to Robert
Kulicke at Kulicke-Stark in NYC. I subseguently owned and taught at
the Jewelry Arts Institute since 1987, until 2009, when I sold it to
Maria Markowitz. Now I am free to devote my time to my real love,
making jewelry, in my studio in NYC and in my studio at my second
home in Carlisle, Pa.

Laura Hepworth
Standish, Michigan. USA
I was born in Ireland and spent most of my life over there because my
parents were missionaries in Ireland for 13 years. I’m an aspiring
jewelry artist/designer and have my Associates of Fine Arts. At
present, I’m self taught in all the jewelry techniques that I know
(primarily wire techniques, but I have recently started learning
soldering) and am trying to decide whether to get my BFA in Jewelry
Design/Metalsmithing, take some jewelry workshops, or try and find an
apprenticeship in order to learn the rest. I am addicted to all
things related to jewelry and gems and someday plan to also learn
lapidary.

Diana Dow
Methuen, MA. USA
I love all sorts of jewelry making… on a constant learning
adventure. Currently, I am focused on silversmithing; although,
beading/bead weaving is my portable interest. I just purchased an
Smith acetylene/air system after using first a butane torch, then a
propane plumber’s torch. I love all the on this site!!!
Thank you to those who contribute!!!
