I am not a jeweler but have a family heirloom that I would like to
know more about. It is a gold thimble, probably western American,
and probably late nineteenth/early twentieth century. There are two
hallmarks: 1) three fairly narrow, pointed leaves arranged in a
circle; 2) a simple bell outline enclosing what could be the letter
S crossed with a sword. I hope someone knows the maker of the
thimble from these marks.

I am a hobbyist with an interest in enamel. It is a beautiful medium
and I found a Ken Bates book at a used book store and inherited a
kiln from someone with a too small apartment! I have been collecting
enamel colors and tools and have been experimenting myself with
techniques I learn from you t ube and from silver smiths I know. I am
working on becoming consistent in design and it is very fun and a
great medium for being creative!!
