Eric Eliason
Coventry, RI. USA

Started in the die cast business 1980’s, making dies for belt
buckles, shoe buckles and ornaments. Did a lot of engraving both
pantograph and hand- especially on the western buckles. Did a lot of
hobbing of the dies and cut some hubs for stamping houses in the
providence/attleborough area. The whole business went to China in
the early 90’s and I switched to making injection molds for
plastics. Took night classes in jewelry and silversmithing back in
the 80’s and found a lot of overlap with all the bench skills
learned as a diemaker. Now live with my wonderful wife and our 2 cats
and dog in Coventry, RI. right next door to my shop.

Richard Hyer
Ogden, UT. USA

I have been doing jewelry work since I was 13 years old. I enjoy
learning new techniques and processes. My business has been in place
since 1980 and we serve the retail jewelers in the area.

Carl A Schutze
Key West, FL. USA

I am originally from South Africa and have been here in the US for
over 20 years. I have been involved with and run my wife’s family
business (founded in 1964)with her, for over 13 years now. I started
out on the sales floor and moved to the bench about 12 years ago and
have been specializing in laser fabrication and repairs for over 5
years now. I have trained under the unique mentorship of my
father-in-law and founder of the company, Manuel Marcial de Gomar,
after having first attended a basic jewelry repair course. My
specialities are emeralds, Atocha emeralds, conch pearls, red beryl,
Or egon sunstone and of course whatever else flows through here from
diamond, ruby sapphire, tourmaline, Australian opal and more. I am
enrolled in the APPA (Advanced Personal Property Appraising) course
and just enrolled today in the Graduate Gemologist GIA program. I
have hands on experience in most facets of the business from sales,
bench repair and design, computerized engraving, to marketing and
appraising.
