I am a retired jeweler trying to move on to large scale sculpture and
art furniture. I was a jeweler for thirty-five years; for those of
you that have an older collection of Lapidary Journal, the May, 1997
dealer’s issue has a feature article showing some of the jewelry I
have made. I still make things occasionally for friends and long time
customers and am still playing with lapidary work. I am interested in
networking with other jewelers, considering the possibility of
selling some of my tools and materials. I look forward to using the
site.

Priscilla Walsen
Ojo Sarco, NM. USA

I’m a silversmith and lapidary based in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico and
Morrison, Colorado. I focus on semi-precious stone inlay. I like to
find ways to use geometric forms to create bold jewelry with clean
lines. I especially enjoy working with the stones–finding ways to
show off their patterns and colors. My settings are hand fabricated
from sterling sheet, wire, and tubing. Now I’m experimenting with PMC
in the hopes of expanding my inlay work. I also like to experiment
with different patina solutions. In 1997, I learned to create stone
inlay jewelry in one of RoseMarie Christison’s classes at Ghost Ranch
in Abiqui, New Mexico. The same year I left the corporate world and
established SilverWear. In November 2006, my inlay work was featured
in Lapidary Journal magazine. I am also a certified PMC A rtisan by
the PMC Guild. I grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Princeton
University in 1982 with a degree in English. I’ve been living in the
west ever since. My work has been shown in galleries in Colorado, New
Mexico and Montana, and through private trunk shows. Future plans
include a perma nent studio, classroom and gallery in Ojo Sarco on
the famous “High Road to Taos” in mountains of northern New Mexico.
