I am a silversmith who enjoys making “wearable art with a
contemporary edge” Many of the gemstones used are cut by me from
material sourced from all over the world which allows me to create
unique innovative jewelry.

I am new to the jewelry world, and consider myself in the
intermediate catagory of learning to work with lost wax casting,
silver chain making, and various ways to work with silver, copper,
brass and bronze.

I have been an artist all my life. Officially,I received my BA in Art
from Humboldt State University in California. I’ve had a great work
life: commercial photographer, graphic designer and designing and
leading training programs in management for corporations. Many,
many… okay, uh, just… many years later I was blessed with the
opportunity to quit all corporate life and concentrate full-time on
JUST ART!! Although it took the universe telling me through health
challenges to be at this point, I am happy to say a strong sense of
humor helped me prove doctors wrong and I’m strong and crazy as
ever. I am currently obsessed with GLASS AND METAL CLAY. Austin is a
terrific art town with live music providing a constant soundtrack to
whatever you choose to pursue. A shout-out to the folks at my 2nd
home: Helios Kiln Glass Studio and Paul & Karen Tarlow who offer
tremendous support, educat ion, and snacks and love questions that
begin with, “What if…”

Hello Everyone!

I have been collecting gemstone beads and such for many years now,
and upon layoff fifteen months ago (Truck Driver - Local
Consrtuction), I started searching the web and learned to ‘string’
jewelry, some ‘wire wrap’ (Ha), multi-strands, and now playing with
copper wire trying my hand at making uni quely designed bracelets.

I was on an internet quest this evening for inspiration and
marketing creating blogs, widgets, wordpress, jewelry
forums - and I happily found you all! I am new here and just joined
your site. I have never interacted much, if at all, and have
concluded this to be my number one bigges t problem, amongst many.

I Love Copper! I was reading a few days ago right here about the art
of ‘Patination’ and the many processes. I cant wait to try it!

I am in need of professional wisdom, suggestions and critique, and
invite you to visit my progress at these sites

Thank you so much!
