Diana Ferguson
Diana Ferguson Artisan Jewelry
Wisconsin, USA,

I’m a Lake Geneva, Wisconsin designer and maker. I create
beautifully crafted, high quality artisan jewelry for women and men,
with an emphasis on mixed media embellishments and chain work,
especially chain maille, in sterling silver, gold and alternative
metals (niobium, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass).

ABOUT THE WORK

Polymer infused paper scrolls & petals & hand-woven chain in
precious & alternative metals are the basis for my art to wear
jewelry constructions. My introduction to paper as a substrate for
jewelry making came through experimentation with Origami folding. In
exploring this venerable technique, I saw the potential for paper as
a sculptural medium. Dissatisfied with the weight of traditional
Origami paper, I turned to cotton rag paper, which is heavier &
stronger & allows me to create organic, sculptural forms that I can
pattern & embellish. In my current body of work, I focus on the
shapes of scroll & petal. Patterning is derived from mixed media
techniques ranging from image transfer to stitchery, as well as my
own digital art. Paper elements are glazed using a multi-step
polymer infusion process that provides waterproofing & UV
protection. Cords & chains in a variety of metals comp lete the
pieces; some are hand-woven using traditional or innovated
chainmaille weaves structures.

HI Everyone, My name is Leah, and I design and construct jewelry
under my company name, Elle Madera Jewelry. I work predominently with
sterling silver, and really love to use a wide variety of textures
in my pieces (my rolling mill is the best purchase I have ever
made!). I look forward to participating in the Ganoksin Project!

I’ve been throwing myself into various crafts since I was barely in
my teens - now I’m trying silversmithing. I may or may not need
professional help of a sort this website isn’t able to provide.
