I’ve been doing metalsmithing for 6 years as a hobby. Now that I’m
retired I want to explore more of the metalsmithing/jewerly world.

After 15 years in Investment Banking i came to conclusion it was
high time to dedicate myself to my passion: Jewellery. So I signed
up to the Gemmology Diploma course at Gem-A in Hatton Garden, I am
training as Crystal Therapy Practitioner and I have attended the GIA
Course on Pearls Grading and finally… yes, I feel thriving. I am
now the Director of my own company ie Kromahope Gemstones Ltd. It s
still early days but I have never been this happy before.

I am a designer jeweller, since leaving college with a degree in 3
dimensional design in 1979, I have been working as a self employed
Jeweller, making commissioned work for the public. I now have a very
small shop in Melbourne Derbyshire in England, and continue to make
bespoke pieces. I believe that jewellery should be an expression and
reflection of the person it it’s made for hence the name ‘holistic’.
I am currently getting a range of jewellery together to promote ‘on
line’ and I have been working for the past few years making dynamic
new pieces out of old family gold for my customers, that both carry
thier’ history and thier’ family conections within them. I
appreciate the chance to see what others are doing within the
ganoksin project and appreciate the idea of shared knowledge to
preserve the craft. Helen

Kathy Ann Klug
New Smyrna Beach, Florida. USA

I am a retiree who moved to Florida 15 years ago to enjoy the sun,
beautiful beaches, and wonderful lifestyle Florida has to offer.
Upon retirement, I went into the real estate field and became a
multimillion dollar producter. When the market took a nosedive, I
found myself with lots of spare time and needed something to fill
that void. I began beading and making jewelry. Eventually, I became
a little bored with beading and took silversmith classes from a
local artist. I soon discovered my love for this art. I have been
using silver in my designs for a couple of years but consider myself
a beginner. I have lots to learn and look forward to learning from
Orchid.
