The first word I learned how to spell was “Artist,” because that was
what I wanted to be when I grew up. At eighteen when I entered the
jewelry studio at Illinois State University, I remember saying “Oh
THIS is what I was meant to do” and under the direction of Richard
Mawdsley, started my jewelry career. Fast froward forty years and I am
loving this career more than ever. I work restoring antique jewelry
equipment and making modern jewelry with these tools. I have sold to
Macy’s, QVC and designed for Hallmark. I look forward to the next

I have been making jewelry for 5 years. I started with stringing
beads and decided I could make the findings. So I enrolled in our
community college that has an amazing program and equipment. I have
continued with taking courses so I have equipment to use. Finally I
have been purchasing my own too ls and now with my children moving
out I have a room I am turning into my own studio. I love simple
designs, more organic. Nature seems to be my theme.
