I recently saw this Pepe Touch A Magic wax pen on instagram…(25% off black friday sale)
i had never seen it before, so i searched for it, and saw this youtube video…it is 6 years old…how did i miss this beauty?
it has a sensor mode! where it heats when you touch the band on the handle…instantly…!
my current old wax pen handle gets hot…this one looks so much better

I’ve been making my own wax pens with one of these miniature soldering irons: https://www.mmnewman.com/product-category/antex-soldering-irons/ and a light dimmer switch for over 30 years and they work great, with ultra fine tips if you want. I did purchase one of the Pepe Touchmatic Wax Pens a few years back, mainly for the touch control, but I found it to be a bit awkward and the smallest tip they offered wasn’t as fine as I would like for some of my applications, so I seldom use it. It is nicely made and would probably be great for some users, but it is pretty expensive (relative to the $50 for the miniature soldering iron and $20 for a dimmer switch and box), however if you aren’t into build it yourself tools, it might be just work for you.
