Cut a groove in a hard wood block. Make several grooves to fit
a variety of ring widths and diameters. Set the ring in the
groove which fits best and use your stamp. The groove will hold
the ring in a stable position and will prevent damage to the ring
as well.

I’m assuming that you are stamping the INSIDE of the ring . …
not the outside.
