Having collected and kept snakes since I was 7, I keep a display
case full of them visible to anyone who passes the door.

I simply leave a sign on the door in English and Spanish (we’re in
California, and I am biligual:)

"If you are contemplating entering these premises while I am not
present please make sure that the County Hospital has an adequate
supply of antivenin."

Never had anyone try.

I agree, i simply have a sign that says "snakes " hanging on my
studio’s fence in New Orleans…studio never got robbed- and the
house well, only 2 times! which for New Orleans is practically
never…Lot’s of those signs around in New Orleans pre-katrina…Now
the spray paint on every house (that hasn’t covered it yet) with
1 dead,or 3 dead in attic,or 1 cat,2 dogs under porch, keeps most
out…that’s the “rest of america” folks!

Re: Zoological Security Forces ~

Some years ago I had friends whose home near a major freeway ( in
LA) was set quite far back from the ( secluded) street on a fairly
large lot, plus surrounded by lots of trees and shrubbery. Pretty
easy pickins’ for evil doers wishing to work unobserved. When they
were inevitably burgled, dogs notwithstanding, they switched to geese
upon the recommendation of one of the investigating patrolmen. “Too
mean to predict, too stupid to con…” I would also add “loud”. Angry
wings flapping up into the face is an effective dis-arming device.
And the reach of those beaks was, let’s just say, strategic. Also
accurate. Plus there were the regular contributions to a lovely
garden, as well…

Not necessarily an endorsement for use in a jewelry venue, of
course…

Just an observation from a pet lover (we have a zoo at our house).
Anything that eats has to poop. I wonder how much maintenance is
involved cleaning scorpion poop from his display cases?

Okay, if this guy thinks this is gonna stop a smash & grab perhaps he
shouldn’t tell us how to hold the scorpion so it doesn’t bite!

P.S. ever hear of bug spray?
hee hee!

Is there any award for weirdest post? This should get it for 2007 so
far… Wouldn’t everyone want an engagement ring or watch that has
scorpion footprints on it? Thanks for posting we got a good laugh
today.
