Tumbling Media

Greeting’s, to Orchid,

I purchased a new magnetic tumbler recently and am going through the
process of running the tumbler with a clean white stone to burnish
the ends of the stainless steel pin shot because as you know it takes
awhile for the shot to give you the finish desired. I am having good
results with the shot preparation but was wondering if anyone has any
feedback on good compounds or chemicals for cleaning the shot
(stainless) after each round with the stone as it becomes much
discolored. I am able to clean it by running a few rounds without the
stone and just some cleaning compound with burnishing compound. But
does anyone know of anything chemical or compound base used for
polishing stainless steel?

Rio sells a concentrated liquid that is used to clean stainless steel
shot. You just mix it with water and run with your shot in your
tumbler.
