Tucson Trekkers

Hi Gang,

A quick rundown on the bigger Tucson show dates.

Jan 26, Sun: G&LW jump start
Jan 27, Mon: Many others
Jan 29, Wed-Feb 3, Mon: AGTA
Jan 29,Wed-Feb 5, Wed: GLDA
Jan 30, Thur-Feb 6, Thur: GJX
Feb 13, Thur-Feb 16, Sun: TG&MS

I’d suggest a weekday night for the 1st Annual TREKKERS get-together; less
competition for resturuant space.

I’ll reserve us space when we have a definite date & count.

I believe Susan is keeping track of the attendees.

OK folks get your names & preferred meeting dates in to Susan!

Tucson Dave

Hi Gang,

A Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year to everyone!!!

The Big Show is fast approaching. If you’re interested in
participating in an evening get-together of the Orchid Tucson
Trekkers (OTT), over dinner, while in Tucson let me know by
1/18/97.

I’ll reserve space in a medium priced resturaunt with a good
menu. Let’s try for a weekday night starting about 6:00PM. We’ll
order off the menu. If you have any other preferences please
indicate them.

Dave Arens, Tucson

Hi, David. I’d like to join you, and since I’m in Tucson too,
let me know if you need any help with the arrangements. Cheers.

Glad you posted this, Dave. I have been thinking of posting a
similar one for the last 24 hours. Great minds…

I suggest someone should be bold and just pick a date…I
nominate you, Dave A! From the previous posts on this subject we
have had a variety of suggestions made for a day. (It seems to
be a case of too many chefs.) We need to pick a date and adapt to
it. Susan Chenoweth requested NOT to meet on Feb. 4 because of
a family celebration.

Here is the list I have so far compiled of those planning to
attend: Dave Arens David Horn Robert Ringold Susan Chenoweth Hemi
Candy Glaze

We had either Joan or June who had expressed interest, but need
her to confirm.

Also, James Marker wrote he’d be at the GIA booth at AGTA. So,
James, are you interested?

One more: Got a private post from Richard Olson who may be at
Tucson. If you are listening Richard, are you interested?

Anyone who wants to be a “charter member” of the annual Orchid
Tucson Trekkers, now is the time to say “aye”.

Candy

Hi Dave,
Yep, I am interested - just pick a date and I will drive down.
At this point in time, any evening is ok- but lets make it an
early dinner 5 to 6 - cause I will drive home afterwards. (an
hour and a half drive) And I turn into a pumpkin after 10. And
pumpkins don’t drive so good at night. I bet Elizajean would
love to join us too, but she is out of town right now. So add us
in. Looking forward to putting faces with thenames.

Thanks Joan

Hi Trekkers,

The following is a list I have of those that indicated a desire
to attend the 1st annual Orchid Tucson Trekkers dinner. Those
names with a ‘X’ behind them have confirmed attendance.

If your name is on the list and you haven’t confirmed yet please
do so by Thursday, Jan 24.

If your name isn’t on the list and you’d like to attend post a message
on the forum or E-mail me at 102545.2614@compuserve.com by Thursday,
Jan 24.

The dinner will be held Friday January 31, 6:00 PM at ‘Lillies’
resturaunt in the Downtown Holiday Inn. Ask for the Orchid group
when you arrive. We have a private dinning room to the left as
you enter the resturaunt. We have the room for the evening.

Friday night the special is a seafood buffet. Crab legs, shrimp,
cod/halibut(?), prime rib, ham, salad, rolls and other goodies.
The price is $16.99 + tax and 15% gratuity (about $21.00). The
managment has asked that someone in the group collect the monies
& pay the bill; please have the correct amount of cash available.

The Downtown Holiday Inn is a stop on the show shuttle or an
easy walk (about 2 blocks North) from the Tucson Convention
Center or GJX tent.

Hope everyone has a pleasant, uneventful trip to Tucson. See you
all Friday, January 31, 6:00 PM, at Lillies in the Downtown
Holiday Inn, Tucson.

Here’s the list. X = confirmed.
