Tucson show rough report

Hello all,

my tucson show rough report

Opals, blacks opals, amethystine sagenite agate, blue agate, green
unknown, green unknown with hematitie, lapis, pink opal, meteorites,
australian ribbon jasper, black jade, smithsonite/hematite, and
… the list goes on. truely rock buyers paradise.

I found that the rough sales price has absolutely no relationship to
the finished gem price - sometimes the rough sells for 5 times what
the finished stone will go for (these are the deals that I do not
complete), and sometimes the best gems comes from places you would
never expect! why is it that the best deals are $0.80 per pound? I
carved that one, put it with 14kt surface depleted, a few diamonds,
and the results were quite worthwhile.

So, beauty truely is where you find it.

OK, Mark. I’ll bite. What stone did you carve, etc?
