Tube setting an oval small stone

I am trying to set an oval faceted stone and I can’t get the stone to stay. I have filled the sides a bit to make them more bendable but I can’t seem to get it right. Any tips?!

have you created/ cut a seat for the stone…?

how big is the stone?
how thick are the walls of the tubing?

It’s a small 4 mm or so stone, it’s a die cut setting sterling silver I bought form Rio Grande, I am not sure how thick the walls are.

i am not sure if die struck tube settings are hardened due to the stamped nature of the metal…and if that is affecting your experience in setting…?
