Trillium Bezels

A friend is looking for a source of trillium bezels in 14K YG. These
are triangles with bulgy sides. She needs a full bezel - not just the
points of the stone. Any ideas? Thanks, Karen

Good Luck! I’ve looked everywhere and finally had to make a model and
have them cast. I’m having some problems, since there seems to be no
standard cuts for trilliants.

Karen, I hesitated in responding, considering all the variables such
as size, numbers required, etc, etc. I would say, unless your friend
needs a 50 or 100 or these bezels, its easiest to make them oneself.
It should only take about 20 to 30 minutes to whip one out and it will
be exactly what she wants rather than a commercially made one that
might be a half to a full mm off one way or another. Sorry, couldn’t
contain myself.

Cheers from Don at The Charles Belle Studio where simple elegance IS
fine jewelry!

I suggested that she make them herself. She is an excellent wax
carver. But she is expecting a baby in august, just moved into a new
home and has a three year old. she was hoping there was an easy way
out! Karen

You might try Boston Gems and Findings for these settings. I think I
may have gotten some from them once. Their number is 617-742-9402.

Years ago- around 1985- I sold the models for 2 trillium bezels to
Boston Gems and Findings- 5mm and 6 mm sizes. They still produce them
in various metals- 14k yellow is one of the qualities. I was just
discussing this with the owner a few days ago, so I know that they
still stock them. If you need other sizes, Frei & Borel in Oakland
sells bezel blocks in a trillium shape- these make a nicely 17 degree
tapered bezel. The models that I sold to Boston Gems and Findings
(1-800-225-2436) were straight sided. Rick Hamilton
