Good advice, Jess. I agree with your attitude.

Make your own tools and your workpieces will come out looking
more uniquely you. Jewellery-making starts with making the tools,
and jigs, and all the supportive bits and pieces. Gas? Propane,
for sure, for gold, copper and silver alloys. It’s cleaner than
acetylene or butane. A fine handpiece (oxy/propane) for
soldering, a big and hot oxy/propane handpiece for melting, and
an air/propane (ie, propane only) big fat bushy torch for
annealling.
