pretty extraordinary I thought I’d post a separate plug. Sorry, it’s

Thanks, John, for the beautiful pictures. What a wonderful place to
discover. I would suggest that probably the hummingbird with the
black background fits the description of an inlay, the pieces being
inset into the black marble. The other masterpieces are probably
more properly called intarsia. The rock there fits together instead
of being inset, though it may be backed with another slab of rock.
