No matter what route you go for a pickle pot, be sure the one you get has
a GLASS or GLAZED pot. Some of the crock pots (other warming gizmos too)
have pots made from metal or other materials that are attacked by pickle.
Nobody wants everything tossed in the pickle pot to come out copper plated.

Dave excellent point. Also the crock pots with the ceramic green glaze will
react bad to pickel. I am not a ceramist but it must be something in the
green glaze that has a metal of ferrous nature that reacts adversly. Mine
is cream colored. Also a safety tip is to caulk all of the metal joints on
the pot with silicone to prevent spills from seeping inside to erode the
wiring. RED
