Too old for this

Dear Dave & All,

Alas I too confess to facing this problem and blame my age and
perhaps torch skill? Having soldered hundreds models with even a
dozen or so soldered components I thought I was going nuts at seeing
pits in a simple seam when sizing. My solution was to go back to the
best solder I have ever used. That being Stern Clinton brand. It does
have cadmium in it. My shop has plenty of ventilation and I don’t use
that much of it. Result-- less pitting but a pit or two now and then.
I’ll try the paste flux today on a few jobs. I love the deox casting
alloys and won’t do back to metal without it. We’ll see…

Best Regards,
