Tip for Soldering pin backs

Hi, I do the almost exact thing that Andy does but I will take it a
step further. After soldering just enough solder to the piece that I
want the pin back to go, I will take the time to reclean the piece and
scratch the surface of the solder with a wire brush. I also will quick
file the bottom of the pin findings. I know the cleaning thing might
seem redundant but it saves time in the end when the soldering is a
success on the first try. With soldering you can never be TOO clean.
Ps…I have found that I no longer need to heat sink with the
tweezers. Practice makes perfect. Susan Sarantos
