[Tidbits] The Upside-Down Bird

The Upside-Down Bird

The title is a name given to the Flamingo because of the way it
feeds. An alternate title to this Tidbit could easily have been: The
Shortest Tidbit Ever.

I have an image of a piece of jewelry created by someone named
Carvin … no first name given. It is of two Flamingos … their
bodies made of pink diamonds and their beaks of faceted black
diamonds. All this … before pink or black diamonds became as
popular as they are today.

As to Flamingos themselves … I have a scant two bits of
The first: Flamingo is the name given to the hotel
build by Bugsy Siegal in Las Vegas in 1946 at a cost of six million
dollars. Flamingo–by the way–was dear old Bugsy’s nickname for his
girlfriend Virginia Hill. Good thing he liked her, I say … for he
could have easily called her something else that might have been a
tad less appropriate for a hotel name.

Fact number two is that the Flamingo is roughly 65 million years
old. Not very earth shattering … but there it is.

Cavin’s pin is an amazing work of art … mother and daughter …
feeding … able to be worn together … or taken apart and worn
separately. Total weight of pink diamonds is 48 carats. Mounted in
platinum and 18 karat white gold. Value … about $550,000 dollars.

And now … true to my word … I end this shortest Tidbit ever and
wish you all a great week. The image … on the other hand … is
astounding. Go take a peek.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits…may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says
Tidbits Graphics … and then click on the link that says: Flamingo
… where you will see a graphic of a magnificent work of art.

And there ya have it. That’s it for this week folks. Catch you all
next week. Benjamin Mark
