[Tidbits] The Jabot

The Jabot

Circa 1920. Hey…you. You know what a Jabot is? Hmmm? How about you?
Or you? Or you? I’ll confess this and no more. I did not know. So I
went to my trusty dictionary. Jabot, I said. Jabot yourself, it
answered. I worried that I had insulted it. But it couldn’t
be…because I saw a picture of a Jabot…and it was truly quite
attractive. So I asked my dictionary again. Jabot, I said. Gimme a
break. And so here’s what it answered. It’s a ruffle or some such
ornament worn down the front of a dress…or a blouse…or even a
shirt if you lived during those times when men wore Jabots too.

Of course, it takes a jeweler to take an ornament usually worn below
the neck on a blouse or shirt and make a piece of jewelry out of it. I
don’t know if my Jabot is something made for a woman…or for a man. I
will accept your votes on this. As to the etymology of the word…it’s
French for a bird’s crop.

Styles and fashions…as we all know…are cyclical. Perhaps it’s
time the Jabot made a resurgence. If I make a Jabot for some gent out
there…will he wear it, and pay for it, I wonder. It might work.
Imagine you’re walking down the street, wearing two Tyler-Adam Jabots.
You’re a big spender. You’re an all or nothing guy. One Jabot won’t
do. Out of the corner of your eye you see a pretty lass and her friend
looking at you out of the corner of their eyes. Hey…Carol…you
hear one of them whisper. Look at the pair of Jabots on that guy.
You see them panting with anticipation. You’re Jabots do not go
unnoticed.

To have a big pair of Jabots is truly complimentary to the male ego.
So…don’t let time be awastin’. Get your hot Jabots while you can.
It’ll be worth the investment. The women will want to fondle your
Jabots no end. Of course…they may want to separate you from your
Jabots…and this is a painful risk you all take. Good Jabots are hard
to find.

So in the meantime…while you’re all pondering the purchase of a
custom-made Tyler-Adam Jabot…let me tell you a bit about the one
I’m going to show you. It’s made of coral and black onyx and
European-cut diamonds set in platinum collets. Its attractiveness lies
in its uniqueness. I urge you all to take a look…those of you who
have seen a Jabot…and those of you dying to see a Jabot. And
think…young men…of what a substantial pair of Jabots can do for
you…especially if you don’t have any.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits…may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the table menu till you get to the box that says
Tidbits…and inside the box where it says Tidbit Graphics…click on
the link that says: Jabot…where you will see a graphic of
our…Jabot.

And there ya have it. That’s it for this week folks. Catch you all next
week. Benjamin Mark
