James, what a hoot.

Once a upon a time, when I was in the Navy, I used to make beer
money by modifying 4" brass cotter pins. That went well until the
Supply Officer began to wonder why our shop was using so many cotter
pins. Started to substitute brass tie wire after that.

Kind of reminds me of John Burgess’s story of making a seal stamp
for the bottles they opened. He told that one some time ago.

Used to make a ring in the early 70’s that doubles as said item,
whith todays medical there might even be a market but wouldn’t you
end up in the same boat as tomy chong and his bong?
