I wanted to let you know that with the help of your newsgroup and
some of the people therein, and of course all the tools and such you
were able to spare, that I was finally able to find full time
employment in Spokane.
It actually was with a company where I will be using my software
skills again.
But even thought I had been unemployed for 5 1/2 years and so did
not have much software to show for the intervening time, it seems
that the head of the company was also an amateur silversmith and
blacksmith.
He was very impressed by the amount of effort I had placed in my
first chain, and by some CNC machined engravings I made on aluminum
nonstick cookware. He told me he was convinced that I was capable of
working intently on anything which interested me.
So I have everyone here to thank for helping me channel my abilities
into something I could use to impress people enough to convince them
to hire me.
I’ll still pursue silversmithing and jewelery making as a hobby,
assuming that I have enough time left in the day after work and
family.

This is wonderful news Andrew. I am wishing the very best for you in
your new endeavor and hope that you are able to occasionally get into
your workshop and have fun.
