In looking at some of Chanel’s commercial jewelry, I see the
description of many pieces to include the material “strass”. Anybody
have a clue what stuff it is?

It is a lead crystal, Swarovski makes them in hotfix etc.
Googled it and found Austrian flint glass with high lead content -
used to imitate

I believe that Strass refers to the crystals in the cuff. They would
belong to the industrial/lighting division of Swarovski.

Strass in German is defined as leaded glass used for gemstone
imitation.
