With all this talk of stainless steel tea strainers and replacing
questionable parts I am suprised that no one has suggested a coffee
strainer. I found one this week at the grocery store that looked to
be the substitution for paper filters in an electric coffee maker.
It was made of plastic with an incredibly fine screen and about 4
inches in diameter. It is designed to be used with hot water. They
don’t have a top but they are so large and stable they certainly
won’t tip over and are easy to retrieve.
