Sterling plating that cracks when metal is bent

What is that horrible plating on some sterling silver jewelry? The
plating cracks if the metal is bent (as in sizing a ring) and it is
nearly impossible for me to remove it. Do you work on this type of
jewelry? (I am not referring to rhodium plating.)

Thanks in advance.

Dale- Ruuuuun! Run away as fast as you can from working on this
stuff. It is often nickle plating under rhodium. It has to be
manually removed with abrasives.

I refuse to touch them.

Have fun and make lots of jewelry.
