Relating to the “removing wedding band without cutting it” thread,
and the appropriatness (or inappropriatness) of using steel,
titanium, or tungsten to make jewelry:

Just today I saw an advertisement in the Wall Street Journal by
Tiffany & Co featuring (drum roll please)… a pendant made from
titanium & silver! Has the great authority from on high spoken?

With tongue somewhat in cheek - that makes it more mainstream, yes.
Tiffany’s hasn’t been the great authority for many years, now. Since
they were bought by Avon, at least. Still a big house, yes,
Authority? Welllllllll…
