Hi all I have been using mild steel in my jewellery which on
occasions I have rusted. I have pretty well established that
once rusted, there is no way to seal the surface to stop it from
rusting further and I have no way of knowing what will happen in
the longer term. Needless to say this does not inspire
potential buyers!! I have heard that there are alloys which
form an oxide (rust) layer which is also a protective layer
which prevents the metal from oxidising any further. I would
love to hear from anyone who knows anything about this. Also
any info about whether this alloy/s is hot rolled or cold
