The current edition of National Jeweler has a beautiful full color
spread on the winners of the Spectrum Awards. I have never seen a
finer selection of designs…they are truly incredible! Inasmuch as
I have been lamenting the appalling lack of creativity, as
illustrated in the past years’ offerings in the Lapidary Journal, it
is truly refreshing to see designs which are not flamboyant,“spit in
your face”, kindergarten collages. American design is alive and well,
