Oh Larry, I so enjoyed your lesson in southern etiquette. It is too
bad that etiquette has ended up being regional and I fear it is
becoming extinct in a great many places. Too sad. However, for
those etiquette-challenged who can’t bring themselves to look a
potential customer in the eye and at least say something pleasant,
they are missing a lot more than one customer. Some of their marbles
have gone missing too. How about something like, “Well I’m so glad
you like it.” Or, "It was a pleasure to make all these things too."
And, "Perhaps you’ll find something you’d like to purchase another
time. Would you like one of my cards to remind you of me? "
There’s much to be learned from southern charm as well.
