[Source] Loose pearls?

Greetings all. I have a friend who’s sister is getting married, and
she wants pearls sewn into the dress. So, does anybody know a good
source for either loose pearls, or strung pearls? I don’t know what
grade they want, by the way.

You asked about pearls for this purpose. If she wants the real
thing, not faux, try Fire Mountain Gems website.

Their pearls are not particularly good quality, but they have some
inexpensive ones if you buy in quantity.

Actually, if you buy Fire Mountain’s top fresh water pearls, I think
the quality is quite good - they are meticulous about grading, and I
have not found other pearls of the same grade that are better. They
don’t purport to be the very best - but you aren’t paying those
prices either! I wait and buy in bulk, and the price winds up being
very good. I have very few “bad” ones out of a bulk lot - and then I
am only have a few individual pearls here and there with luster
issues. For putting on a dress I would think they would be more than
fine!

Hi:

I just tried a new freshwater pearl source -The Earth Bazaar -

I was hesitant about purchasing pearls on-line, but since they began
using a new grading system, thought I’d try them. The quality is
good, the prices (the Pearls sale prices are great) are very good and
the shipping is FREE.

I just placed my second order. Prior to this, I have never bought
pearls on-line (but moving from LA to Florida (few suppliers here),
forces me to find alternative suppliers.
