[Source] Holly Blue Agate

Hello Group,

I have been trying to find a source for Holly Blue Agate from Oregon.
Several sources that had advertised this material appear to be out.

I need a supply of the purple to violet variety especially for custom
cabs for one of my customers.

Hi Tom, Try Chris at Estate Rock and Gem in Portland, Oregon. His
phone number is (503) 626 7851. I leave messages and he does return
phone calls. Please tell him that Diane Sadel referred you. I hope
this helps. Diane http://www.jdfindings.com

Tom, I have recently seen “Holley Blue” for sale on eBay. Judging by
the photos, some of it looked pretty good. Depending on the sizes you
need to cut,and how many, this might work for you. eBay tends to have
smaller goods or other cutter’s rejects, but maybe you can e-mail
the seller to see if they have any premium material available. (if
you need that) Later, Mark

Hello Tom, I purchased some Holley Blue cabs from Bob Bleilys. I could
swear he said that was the correct spelling, Holley rather than
Holly, but see it as Holly on his webpage. Oh well, you might ask
him when you contact him and let us know. Or one of you Oregonians
out there chime in here. Maybe 'cause Bob lives in Parma ID now,
just across the road from OR, he can’t spell anymore. BG Or maybe
’cause I’m an Easterner I can’t remember things. BBG

However you spell it, Holley Blue is a most exotic color. Bob is at
www.bleilys.gems I was at their shop in 1997 and had a wonderful
re-memory moment just now as I checked the URL to see if there were
still active. He and Micki are two great people and it comes through
on the site.

the NW. Sigh)

I agree with Diane Sadel that Chris Arp is the guy to call for Holly
Blue. He had beautiful rough in Tucson this year. 503-626-7851

Hi,

I’ve seen rough material for sale at:

Nelson the Rocky Feller - 1509 W. 6th. Ave. Eugene Oregon 97402
(541)687-8100 (about 4 years ago - hopefully still in business -
interesting shop)

Jerry’s Rock and Gem - 804 W. Valley Highway Kent Washington 98032
(206) 852-0539 (last year - had a small quantity of rough and finished)

Good stuff is not cheap but it is really nice - the few pieces I have
cut have wound up in my significant others personal collection (purple
is her favourite colour).

Hope this helps,
Cameron Speedie
